Our philosophy

At the Hart of Harwell we believe in great food, great wine and great company. We aim to provide the best locally sourced food, combined with an exciting variety of drinks to match. We place ourselves at the centre of local village life and make sure everyone receives a warm welcome.

In warm weather we have a lovely terraced area to the rear, including a beautifully cosy covered wooden seating area. with comfortable cushions and a scandinavian feel.

Inside the pub we have a modern bar area where you can relax and enjoy good conversation. When you’re ready to eat you can move to our inviting restaurant, which includes an interesting “Well table” – can you see to the bottom?

Our wine list is extensive enough to ensure that we always have the right grape to compliment your food. With over 45 wines to choose from, many by the glass, our bar team can help you select the perfect accompaniment.
But the Hart of Harwell doesn’t rest on it’s wines…

Our real ale selections, are rotated regularly and feature guest ales all of the time. Our pipes are cleaned after every barrel of real ale to ensure that you receive the perfect pint every time. Alternatively you might just want to join us for a cappuccino, fruit juice or pot of tea.

“Booked for Christmas Day lunch on 22nd December, last minute decision, replacing our initial plan to be in London. On Christmas Day we arrived 15 minutes early and joined the kew at the bar for few drinks. Clearly they could have used more help but being short staff , in general, and on Christmas Day, specifically, is not unusual nowadays. The pub looked very festive, our corner table beautifully arranged and the food was good and ample. We enjoyed it and appreciated the hard work . Thank you!”
